About us

Sarah about Martin:

Back in 2014 Martin did the TEC. TEC means Trans European Charity walk. Martin went from the southernmost inland point in Spain to the northernmost inland point you can reach by foot in Norway. By doing the TEC Martin wanted to point out the problem of female genital mutilation and its consequences. Martin has a Bachelor degree in Engineering. At the moment is he doing a second Bachelor degree in sports and health promotion at the University of Tübingen. Since he is familiar with the ins and outs of planning of a tour, Martin represents the head of organisation in our team. He always has an overview of all the jobs that need to be done. Perseverance is one of Martins characteristics and also one that is very important for a tour like this. Martin is really good at solving problems and at finding good solutions, even with what little material is available to him. As a tour partner Martin is reliable in every situation and he has a great sense of humour which makes every tour a little brighter.

Martin about Sarah:

One thing Sarah is absolutely not able to do is to stand there and watch while there is a job that needs to be done, or there is someone who needs assistance by doing something. She likes to roll up her sleeves and be hands-on whenever it is necessary. That is why she got involved in the Malaika Project and went to Kenya in 2012 to work in an orphanage there. The moment Sarah decides to do something she shows a high level of dedication and commitment in reaching that goal. In 2013 she started her medical studies at Charité Berlin and in her spare time she works in an ambulance for homeless people. Sarah’s objective way of looking at things and finding a way of achieving an aim without wasting many resources, as well as her thoroughness and her reliability, are just a few of her many skills that are always needed in a team.
